I learned a lot from this project. First, I learned how to effectively and quickly plan a service project to benefit a community or group of people. The planning took the most time and represented about 2/3 of the whole project. I had to think about everything from where the bathrooms are located to my contingency plans. Second, I learned how to effectively communicate with companies to help assist with my project. The company Band Today gave me a 25% discount on the connector pieces which were also graciously donated by the Hilliard Darby Music Boosters. The other materials I got for 40% off thanks to Lowe's and my communication skills to them. With all the discounts and donations the cost of my project went from $1647 to a little over $600. Lastly, I learned a different aspect of leading. In all of the situations I have dealt with as a leader, they have been where I report to someone who is higher than me. During this project, I was the person to report to. I made all the final decisions for the scrims and I was the one who had to organize and make sure everything ran smoothly. I would totally do another project like this because I had a lot of fun doing it and it kept me busy
